The mayor of the Municipality of Ribeira Grande, Jaime Vieira, carried out last week a visit to the police stations of the Public Security Police (PSP) in the municipality. The objective of the visit was to strengthen institutional cooperation between the municipality and that security force.
The mayor was accompanied by Deputy Superintendent Nuno Costa, commander of the Ponta Delgada Police Division, and by a commissioner, whose name was not mentioned in the article. The visit to the police stations demonstrates the intention to maintain and strengthen the relationship between local government and the PSP in the region.
This visit comes in a context of reinforced collaboration between local authorities and security forces, aiming at better coordination regarding public safety in the municipality of Ribeira Grande, located on the island of São Miguel, in the Azores.
