The municipality of Ílhavo will ensure the full reimbursement of the cost of worksheet notebooks for 1st Cycle Basic Education students covered by Social School Action Categories A and B. This measure will take effect in the 2026/2027 school year.
Reimbursement requests must be submitted by 31 October 2026, with the exception of situations resulting from school transfers. The municipal investment amounts to approximately 12 thousand euros and is part of the 2026 Municipal Year of Education.
The Portuguese, Mathematics, Environmental Studies and English worksheet notebooks are not included in the free provision of textbooks guaranteed by the central administration, thus representing an additional expense for families. The council states that the support aims to mitigate this burden, especially for families in greater socioeconomic vulnerability.
This initiative is part of the 2026 Roadmap, which includes 48 measures in the area of Education and family support, reinforcing the municipality's commitment to promoting equal opportunities and academic success.
