The parish of Padroso, in Arcos de Valdevez, will recreate the traditional Potato Digging on September 5. The activity begins at 8:30 AM, at Largo das Lamosas, and aims to recover a tradition linked to agriculture and fieldwork, also providing a moment of fellowship among the population.
The initiative is promoted by the Municipality of Arcos de Valdevez and the Agricultural Cooperative of Arcos de Valdevez and Ponte da Barca, in partnership with the Parish Council of Padroso and the Association Friends of the Land of Padroso.
According to the municipality, the objective is to recover and revitalize ancestral agricultural practices, contributing to the enhancement of the rural world and the preservation of local agricultural traditions. The activity thus aims to preserve the memory and agricultural practices that are part of the history of the local community.
