The Alentejo stays on stage: En'canta Modas secure a place in The Voice semifinal

Rádio Campanário31 August 2026 at 10:42

The musical project En'canta Modas, from Reguengos de Monsaraz, secured a place in the semifinal of the program The Voice Gerações 2026, after performing in the phase called Tira-Teimas, broadcast this Sunday on RTP. The performance allowed the group to continue in the competition after winning over the program's mentors.

Integrated into the team led by Marisa Liz, the group once again bet on Alentejo musical identity, presenting on stage the theme "Hino dos Mineiros." This performance earned them continuity in the program and the possibility to advance to the next phase of the competition.

The passage to the semifinal allows En'canta Modas to continue representing Reguengos de Monsaraz and the Alentejo region in one of the main musical formats on Portuguese television. The journey in the contest has provided the group with visibility for Cante Alentejano, a cultural expression that seeks to preserve and transmit to new generations.

With the semifinal as the next challenge, En'canta Modas continue to bring Alentejo tradition to a stage of national dimension, showing the vitality and capacity for renewal of a heritage deeply connected to the region's identity.

Portuguese Government grants public utility status to Ao Norte in Viana do Castelo

The Portuguese Government granted public utility status to Ao Norte – Association for Production and Audiovisual Animation, based in Viana do Castelo, through an order published in the Official Gazette. The association, which celebrates 32 years of activity in December, is dedicated to film club activities, training and audiovisual production, having established partnerships with the Polytechnic University of Viana do Castelo, local school groups, the Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual and the municipality. This status allows access to tax benefits and government support, reinforcing the institution's social outreach capacity, which develops cultural projects such as the Encontros de Viana festival, the image workshop and the "Schools in Close-Up" program. The Viana do Castelo City Council had already approved the opinion for the attribution of the status in September 2024 and, in 2014, had awarded the association the title of Institution of Merit.
