The leader of Chega, André Ventura, had already announced that he would not give Luís Neves more than two weeks, referring to the situation as a "mess". The party considers Luís Neves's continuity in the executive unacceptable.
António Mendonça Mendes, deputy of the Socialist Party, considered that the Executive must provide more explanations about the situation. The PS understands that additional clarifications are needed before any position is taken.
Chega's motion of no confidence comes as an ultimatum to the Government, if Luís Neves does not leave the executive within the established deadline. Political tension between the parties intensifies as the deadline approaches.
