The PSP of Aveiro arrested, in the early hours of yesterday morning, two men aged 60 and 21, suspected of qualified theft in an industrial building in the city. The arrest occurred in flagrante delicto, after police received a report of an ongoing theft at the location.
The officers immediately went to the industrial building, where they surprised the two suspects as they were preparing to leave the premises. Found in their possession were various objects used to commit crimes, including gloves, a flashlight, two cutting pliers and a pocket knife. Two electric velococycles were also seized.
Although the suspects did not have any stolen goods on them at the time of arrest, the PSP carried out searches to locate them, later finding, in an agricultural field near the building, 11 copper electrical cables. The recovered goods, valued at approximately 5,000 euros, were returned to their owner.
The two arrested persons will be presented this Monday to the Criminal Investigation Judge of Aveiro for their first judicial interrogation and possible application of precautionary measures.
