Property owners with an annual IMI value exceeding 500 euros have until today, August 31, to pay the second installment of the Municipal Property Tax to the Tax Authority. This deadline applies only to taxpayers who did not settle the full amount of the tax in one go during the first installment in May.
The amounts in question depend on the total annual tax due. The IMI Code rules establish different payment dates depending on the total amount to be paid to the Tax and Customs Authority throughout the year.
This tax obligation covers all property owners in mainland Portugal and the Autonomous Regions of the Azores and Madeira who find themselves in this specific installment payment situation.
Taxpayers who have questions about the amounts or procedures can visit their local Tax offices or consult the official channels of the Tax Authority to obtain additional information about complying with this obligation.
