The National Congress begins a decisive week of voting, the last of concentrated effort before the October elections. The federal government placed five proposals of interest on the agenda, which could boost President Lula's campaign. Among the main measures are the proposal that ends the 6x1 work schedule and the Public Security PEC.
Both proposals will be analyzed by the Committee on Constitution and Justice this Wednesday, the 2nd. To expedite the proceedings and quickly bring the texts to the floor, rapporteurs Omar Aziz and Rogério Carvalho rejected the amendments presented to the projects, maintaining what had been previously approved in the Chamber of Deputies.
The week is also marked by urgency in voting on the provisional measure that eliminates the so-called "blusinhas tax." The deadline for approval is until September 8th, otherwise the 20% tax on international purchases of up to $50 will automatically return. The proposal was supposed to be voted on this Monday.
