Gustavo do Canto finished in 10th place in the men's triathlon event at the Mediterranean Games in Taranto, Italy, being the best Portuguese in competition. Gold doubling for Pimenta

Portuguese Fernando Pimenta became world champion in K1 5,000 meters in Poznan, Poland, completing the race in 24.15.72 minutes and beating South African Hamish Lovemore and Danish Mads Pedersen. This title joins the gold won on Saturday in the K1 1,000 meters event, making a double gold for the Limiano athlete. Pimenta had already been world champion at this distance in 2017 and 2018, also having won silver in 2021, 2023 and 2024, and bronze in 2019. Portugal finished the Canoe World Championships with four podiums in total.
