At the closing of the PSD's Summer University, Prime Minister Montenegro gave priority to Education, announcing a set of measures for the sector. Among the announcements, the transformation of the Polytechnic of Bragança into a university stands out, a change that alters the status of this higher education institution.
Montenegro also announced a new school autonomy regime, which will include changes in the way school directors are chosen. This measure comes in the context of a broader reform of the Portuguese education system.
The Prime Minister also mentioned a new science law, which should regulate aspects related to research and scientific development in Portugal. This legislation is part of a broader set of reforms that the government intends to implement.
The measures were presented during the PSD event, where Montenegro emphasized the importance of these education measures as priorities in his government agenda. The leader highlighted the executive's commitment to the modernization of the national education system.
