Luís Montenegro announces creation of University of Bragança and Northern Interior and new school autonomy regime

Prime Minister Luís Montenegro announced the creation of the University of Bragança and Northern Interior, a new higher education institution aimed at strengthening the educational offerings in the northern region of the country.

The head of the Executive also announced the implementation of a new school autonomy regime, which should provide greater flexibility in school management.

Regarding scientific research, Montenegro revealed that the government will soon approve a new science and innovation law, with the aim of creating an ecosystem that can position Portugal as a reference in Europe and the world.
