A solidarity action held in Leira managed to collect almost 12 thousand euros to help the victims of storm Kristin, seven months after the storm passed. The charitable event consisted of an auction of thousands of empty bottles, which were auctioned to the local community.
The initiative demonstrated that, despite seven months having passed since storm Kristin, there is still great need among the victims and room for those who wish to contribute. The amount raised of almost 12 thousand euros reflects the support of the community in Leira for those affected.
The auction of empty bottles thus became a creative form of social mobilization, allowing the residents of Leira to actively participate in supporting neighbors who still face difficulties resulting from the storm.
