A ferry with more than 260 passengers capsized off the northern coast of Cyprus. The incident occurred when the vessel was making a crossing between the ports of Girne and Larnaca.
The head of the executive of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, a state only recognized by Türkiye, acknowledged the existence of victims resulting from the accident.
Cypriot authorities are coordinating rescue operations to assist the passengers aboard the capsized ferry.
