Third round of the Regional Championship with 29 pilots registered

The Serreta Motocross track, located on the island of Terceira, hosted today the third round of the 2026 Azores Regional Championship. The event featured 29 registered pilots competing in the motocross modality. This is another stage of the regional sports calendar that continues to promote motocross in the Azores. The competition at Serreta brought together pilots from the region at one of the traditional tracks for this modality in the archipelago.

Gold doubling for Pimenta

Portuguese Fernando Pimenta became world champion in K1 5,000 meters in Poznan, Poland, completing the race in 24.15.72 minutes and beating South African Hamish Lovemore and Danish Mads Pedersen. This title joins the gold won on Saturday in the K1 1,000 meters event, making a double gold for the Limiano athlete. Pimenta had already been world champion at this distance in 2017 and 2018, also having won silver in 2021, 2023 and 2024, and bronze in 2019. Kutchy made it 3-2 at 24 minutes, but Benfica couldn't find an equaliser. Previously, on Saturday, the eagles had defeated Jimbee Cartagena.
