The Municipality of Celorico da Beira hosted on Sunday, August 30, the start of the final stage of the Volta a Portugal Juniores cycling race. The stage covered a distance of 115.1 kilometres, with the destination being the Fluvial Beach of Vila da Ponte, located in the neighbouring municipality of Sernancelhe.
The symbolic start took place at 10:00am at the Municipal Market of Celorico da Beira, marking the beginning of the final stage of this cycling competition for young athletes.
The event was organised by the Municipality of Celorico da Beira, which thus hosted a stage of one of the most relevant events on the Portuguese junior cycling calendar. The race crossed territory of at least two municipalities, linking the Beira Alta region to the area of the Viseu district.
