Germany announced it will blame Russia for drone attack attempts at Leipzig-Halle Airport, in the east of the country. The German government revealed it will proceed with a formal response against Moscow over these incidents.
Despite never having officially linked the drones to Russia, the German executive has been publicly talking about attacks since the first day the incidents became known. German authorities believe there is sufficient evidence to assign responsibility to Moscow.
Leipzig-Halle Airport is critical infrastructure for logistics and air transport in the region. The drone incidents raised security concerns at German airport facilities.
This decision represents an escalation of tensions between Germany and Russia, in a context already marked by multiple mutual accusations related to espionage and sabotage activities on European soil.
