Iranian leader appeals to Muslim countries to unite against the US and Israel

RTP Notícias30 August 2026 at 09:30

The Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, appealed to Muslim countries to unite against the United States and Israel. The appeal was made through a written message addressed to the international Muslim community.

The message comes in a context of growing tension in the region, six months after the start of the war in the Middle East. Khamenei accused the United States and Israel of practicing what he described as "crimes" against Muslim peoples.

In his appeal, the Iranian leader emphasized the need for solidarity among Muslim nations in the face of what he considered to be a common threat. Iran has been one of the main allies of the Hamas group since the beginning of the conflict.

This is not the first appeal by Khamenei for Muslim unity since the start of the war, but it marks an intensification of rhetorical confrontation against Washington and Tel Aviv at a time of deep instability in the region.

A suspended strike and rejection of the "educational police": the 2026-2027 school year warms up with several controversial fronts

With a teachers' strike suspended but not cancelled, a demonstration planned for the 12th and strong rejection from school principals, teachers and inspectors of the reform that would transform the inspectorate into a kind of "educational police" to pursue alleged "indoctrination", the 2026-2027 school year begins in Spain with several controversial fronts open. The teaching unrest that culminated in a one-month indefinite strike continues without complete answers to its demands, despite partial negotiations during the summer. A march is prepared to not let the demands fall by the wayside at the start of this course.
