The president of the Alcácer do Sal City Council, Clarisse Campos, stated that the removal of the galleon Amendoeira from the waters of the Sado was a previously prepared operation and not an intervention decided at the last minute.
The mayor guaranteed that the rescue of the galleon was duly planned before being executed.
