Vehicle traffic in the north-south direction on the A24 reopened this Tuesday, at kilometer 99, in Lamego. The reopening occurs eight months after a landslide that forced the complete closure of the section on this road.
Infraestruturas de Portugal has completed the repair works that lasted throughout this period, thus allowing the restoration of traffic in that direction.
Despite the reopening, a temporary traffic restriction to a single lane remains in place at the location. This limitation aims to ensure safety while any complementary works are carried out.
The A24 is an important road that connects the northern interior of Portugal, and the closure of this section for eight months forced drivers to use alternative routes.
