Morocco sent the European Union the guarantee that it will accept the readmission of all migrants who entered Ceuta, the Spanish city in North Africa. The information comes at a time of great diplomatic tension between Madrid, Rabat and European institutions due to the migratory crisis.
The European Parliament reacted to the episode with an almost unanimous position. Negotiators from all European political groups, with the exception of the far-right, were scheduled to meet that afternoon to try to reach a joint text on the situation in Ceuta.
The objective of these negotiations was to approve a common resolution addressing the migratory crisis and its political implications between Spain, Morocco and the European Union. The European far-right was left out of this joint negotiation process.
