PSI closes higher in counter-cycle with Europe driven by Galp and Mota-Engil

The Portuguese PSI index closed up 0.71% at 9,446.63 points, in counter-cycle with the main European stock exchanges that fell, driven by gains in Galp Energia (+1.95%) and Mota-Engil (+2.00%), on a day when the energy sector led the advances on the Lisbon market. The escalation of tensions in the Middle East caused oil to rise above $104 (WTI at $104.44, Brent at $107.87), reactivating inflationary fears and pressure on central banks, at a time when the US Federal Reserve is preparing to announce its monetary policy decision. Sovereign 10-year debt yields rose in Portugal (3.90%), Germany (3.53%), Spain (4.00%) and France (4.50%), reflecting risk aversion in European markets.

CAM demands review of transport contracts
