The new season of performances at Teatro Lethes, in Faro, begins on September 17th with the concert "Clássicos ma non troppo", performed by the Algarve Orchestra, and runs until December 12th, when the Christmas Concert by the Associação Filarmónica de Faro is scheduled. Over these three months, the theater stage will host theater plays, dance, music, opera, cinema and stand-up performances.
Among the programming highlights, baritone Äneas Humm presents a Charity Concert on September 26th, promoted by the Rotary Club Estoi Palace International. ACTA Teatro premieres the production "Alfaiate" on October 9th, based on a story by Helena Tapadinhas and directed by Luís Vicente. On October 17th, Ana Arrebentinha takes the stage with the stand-up show "Muito Faço Eu". The programming continues with Scianema – Environmental Film Showcase, on November 21st, and also includes the Spanish company Thomas Noone Dance, presenting "La gata que quería cambiar la historia" on December 11th.
Tickets for all performances are available at the physical box office of Teatro Lethes, open Tuesday to Friday, from 2 PM to 6 PM, and also through the online ticketing platform.
Teatro Lethes is the oldest operating theater in the country, after the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Lisbon, having been inaugurated in 1845. Its name derives from the Lethes river, from Greek mythology, known as the river of forgetfulness, symbolizing the transformative power of theater.
