The 2026 São Mateus Festival program was presented yesterday, September 14th, revealing six days of music, tradition, gastronomy and entertainment in various spaces of the town of Soure.
The major concerts cycle includes performances by Némanus (17), Nena with David Antunes & The Midnight Band (18), Fernando Daniel (19), Olavo Bilac with the Philharmonic Society Recreational and Beneficent of Vilanovense (20), and José Cid on Monday, the 21st, Municipality Day.
The program also recovers the oldest identity of the celebration, with the Wood Fair, the Walnut Fair, the Onion Fair, the Agricultural Fair, the Parish Tascas (food stalls), folklore, street parades, dances and street entertainment. The early mornings will be extended by São Mateus ON, at Largo Conde Ferreira, with various DJs.
One of the novelties is Mateuzinho, a children's space installed in Praça da República, with small houses, inflatables, swings, games, mascots and a safari train. The festivities end on the 22nd with Family Day in Soure, marked by the traditional popular picnic at the Olive Grove of São Mateus, closing mass, concertina meeting and dance.
