Penacova Music Biennial Returns in October with Concerts, Lectures and Convent Sweets

The municipality of Penacova hosts in October the 3rd edition of the Lorvão Monastery Music Biennial, with concerts, lectures and free-entry cultural activities, coinciding with the 5th National Convent Sweets Exhibition. The official opening, on October 2nd, includes a pipe organ concert and a performance by the Choir of Former Orpheonists of the University of Coimbra, followed by performances by Mário Laginha, the Vox et Communio Choir and the Punctum Saxophone Quartet, among other artists. The program also includes workshops, tastings of traditional sweets, family workshops and a lecture series on musical heritage and convent sweets, aimed at enhancing the tangible and intangible heritage of the municipality through the connection between music, knowledge and tourism.
