São Paulo's Municipal Comptroller's Office (CGM) embargoed all works of New Home Construtora and other companies responsible for the building that collapsed in Penha, in the East Zone of the capital. Permits for new construction requested by these contractors will also be suspended, according to the municipal administration. The collapse left six people dead.
The court ordered the arrest of Ronaldo dos Santos Vivaqua, identified as the hidden partner of New Home, his son Cristiano Vivaqua, and Isis Brandão, who is listed as the company representative. Cristiano and Isis remain at large, according to information from the Public Security Department.
Police said the request for temporary detention was made after the three individuals failed to present themselves to authorities since the beginning of the investigations. The CGM reported on Monday that it heard testimony from the municipal employee responsible for the technical analysis of the collapsed building's project.
