A 24-year-old young man died as a result of a collision between a scooter and a motorcycle, on Monday night, September 14, on National Road 114, in the Industrial Zone of Almeirim. The young man was left in critical condition after the accident and did not survive his injuries.

The victim was initially transported, in critical condition, by ambulance to Alpiarça, where he would be transferred to a helicopter from the National Institute of Medical Emergencies, bound for Lisbon. However, the air transport ultimately did not take place.

The young man ended up dying during land transport to the District Hospital of Santarém. The deceased resided in the Pupo area and leaves behind his wife, who was pregnant.

The motorcycle driver, aged 25 and also residing in Almeirim, suffered serious injuries in the collision and remains hospitalized.
