An initiative dedicated to the observation of sharks and rays takes place on the island of Faial, in the Azores, between September 16 and 22. The event takes place in the city of Horta and aims to promote knowledge about elasmobranchs, a group that includes sharks and rays.
The scheduled activities include exhibitions, lectures and actions targeted at the school public. Participants can also enjoy diving trips dedicated to observing these marine species in their natural habitat.
The event takes place over a full week, allowing residents and visitors to the island to learn more about the marine biodiversity of the region. The activities are open to the general public, with a special focus on educational actions for local students.
