The PS/Açores accused today the Regional Government of "giving with one hand and taking away with two" regarding support for farmers. The criticism arises in the context of a set of complaints related to regional agricultural policy.
The Azorean socialists denounced promises that "fall by the wayside," meaning commitments made by the executive that are not fulfilled. Payment delays owed to farmers were also highlighted, which worsens the difficulties in the sector.
The PS/Açores also points out that production costs continue to rise, while support arrives late and investments do not advance as planned. This situation leaves farmers in a vulnerable situation.
The party considers that there are commitments that continue to be unfulfilled by the Regional Government, criticizing the management of the agriculture portfolio in the Azores. The content PS accusations comes following a set of concerns raised by the regional primary sector.
