A 42-year-old personal trainer named Gavin Thorpe was sentenced to 23 months in prison after driving his SUV into a vehicle in front of The Park pub in Bradford, Yorkshire county, England. The case occurred on June 15, when Thorpe acted in a jealousy-motivated attack after a woman refused to go out with him and asked two men for a ride.
According to the court, Thorpe had "undesirable" behavior toward the woman before the incident. Security cameras recorded the two men and the woman getting into a black Land Rover, which reportedly angered Thorpe.
In the footage, Thorpe can be seen reversing at high speed and hitting the woman's vehicle. After the first collision, he accelerated again toward the car, causing the two men to dive to the side to avoid being hit.
The SUV also hit another parked vehicle and subsequently hit a stone annex, causing the partial collapse of the structure. According to the court, one of the men required medical attention.
