The Municipality of Loulé promotes, on September 28, participatory sessions as part of the development of the Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan of Loulé (PMUS), seeking to involve entities, municipal services and the population in defining future mobility options in the municipality. The motto of the initiative is "Sustainable mobility is built with everyone's participation!"
During the morning, a working session will be held with municipal services and representative entities of the municipality, aimed at gathering different perspectives and technical knowledge. At 5:30 PM, a public session open to all citizens and civil society entities will be held at the Municipal Library Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, where ideas, concerns and proposals related to mobility in the territory will be presented.
The plan is funded by the Transport Fund and the Environmental Fund, with technical advisory services from the company MPT – Mobilidade e Planeamento do Território, Lda. Previously, the municipality had already promoted a Mobility Survey to characterize existing travel patterns in the municipality and identify needs and challenges.
The PMUS aims to define a new vision for travel in the municipality, prioritizing more sustainable, accessible and safe solutions, as well as more humanized public spaces. The council intends for the document to result from a process built with the population, responding to the specificities of a territory marked by different urban, rural and coastal realities.
