The Liberal Initiative (IL) accused the Government of having requested information about the future of pensions in Portugal, but of having decided not to use that data. The party considers this posture a way of hiding information from the Portuguese people.
Mariana Leitão, in public statements, argued that access to data on Social Security represents "treating the Portuguese as adults." According to her, knowing the financial reality of the pension system would be an attitude of transparency and political maturity.
