The Municipality of Tavira will host a program for European Heritage Days, running from September 18 to 27, under the theme "Revive, resist, reinvent". The initiative promotes the appreciation, knowledge, and safeguarding of cultural heritage.

In Tavira, the program begins on the 19th, at 10:30 am, with another edition of "Walks in the History of Tavira", dedicated to the theme "O Arraial Ferreira Neto", at Hotel Vila Galé Albacora. The visit is guided by Ricardo Louro, from the Municipal Museum, and showcases a site deeply connected to the history of tuna fisheries. On the same day, at 6 pm, there will be a visit to the exhibition "Everything for the Neighborhood. SAAL in Tavira and Building Together", on display at the Palácio da Galeria, followed by a visit to the SAAL 1.º de Maio Neighborhood, with guidance from João Baía Costa from the University of Algarve, Luísa Ricardo from the Municipal Museum of Tavira, and Luciano Baptista from the Residents' Association 1.º de Maio.

On the 23rd, at 10 am, the activity "Dansanté – Guided Visit and Movement for Seniors" takes place, at the Pousada do Convento da Graça. Promoted by the Artificial Association, with the participation of Jaquelina Covaneiro from the Municipal Museum of Tavira, the project explores adapted dance as a way to stimulate the health and well-being of the senior population and includes a visit to the remains of the old Almohad Neighborhood.

At 10:30 am on the 26th, there will be a guided visit by Marco Sousa Santos to the exhibition "Jews in Tavira. Fragments of a History", on display at the Islamic Nucleus of the Museum. The closing is scheduled for the 27th, at 10:30 am, with the activity "Tavira on Foot and Slowly", a route through the city that simultaneously marks World Tourism Day and Cittaslow Sunday, an event that brings together cities committed to enhancing quality of life and a slower pace of discovering the territory, guided by Marco Sousa Santos.

Sintra applies 167 fines and launches campaign against street dumping of bulky waste

The Sintra City Council launches this Tuesday the "Sintra + Limpa" campaign to raise awareness among residents about the correct disposal of bulky waste, green waste and other materials, warning that these should not be abandoned on public roads without prior collection request. Since the beginning of the year, SMAS and Sintra's Municipal Police have already initiated 167 environmental offenses for illegal waste disposal. Government "commissioned the truth" about the future of pensions and "decided not to use it," IL accuses

The Liberal Initiative accused the Government of having commissioned studies on the future of pensions in Portugal and then deciding not to make them public, criticizing what it considered a lack of transparency. Mariana Leitão argued that making this data on Social Security available would be "treating the Portuguese as adults," counterpointing that the executive's actions go in the opposite direction.
