Registrations are open for merchants and craftsmen who wish to participate in the Christmas Market of the 14th edition of the Cabeça Aldeia Natal event. This edition runs from December 5, 2026 to January 6, 2027, in the village of Cabeça, situated in the municipality of Seia, in the heart of the Serra da Estrela Natural Park. Interested parties can apply until 11:59 PM on September 30 through an online form, and the regulations are available for consultation.
The Cabeça Aldeia Natal event is recognized as Portugal's first "Christmas Village" with a 100% sustainable philosophy. All street and facade decorations are made by the residents themselves, using exclusively materials collected from the surrounding forest, such as gorse, oak branches, pine cones, and moss, without the use of plastics or artificial decorations. The event's lighting uses low-consumption LED technology.
During the event month, inhabitants open the doors of their homes, garages, and cellars to host local food stalls, craft workshops, exhibitions, and the Christmas market. The program also includes concerts, ecological workshops, nature walks, traditional flavors of the Serra da Estrela, and moments of socializing around the bonfire, providing direct contact with the local population and the thousands of visitors who walk through the village during this season.
