PSP inspects shops in Algueirão-Mem Martins following reports of illegal housing

The PSP carried out an inspection operation in shops in the parish of Algueirão-Mem Martins, in Sintra, after receiving reports about illegal housing inside commercial establishments and possible children at risk. During the action, no signs of minors in danger were confirmed, with the PSP verifying that all identified children were enrolled in schools, with the exception of a toddler. However, it was found that at least one of the shops was being used as permanent housing, a situation that led to the preparation of reports to be sent to the Sintra Municipal Council for administrative and sanctioning procedures. The operation involved the Foreigners and Borders Unit, which confirmed that all identified foreign citizens were in regular documentary status.
