The government of São Paulo opened registrations this Tuesday (15) for a selection process that will allocate R$ 40 million to fund films and series produced in the state. A total of 13 projects will be selected, with transfers of up to R$ 4 million per production.
The initiative is from the Secretariat of Culture, Economy and Creative Industries of the State of São Paulo, carried out in partnership with the National Film Agency (Ancine), with resources from the Audiovisual Sectorial Fund (FSA). Applications are free of charge, close on November 3, and must be submitted through the Fomento CultSP website.
The largest volume of resources will be allocated to the National Production category. Seven feature films will be selected, receiving R$ 4 million each, totaling R$ 28 million. Of these spots, six are for fiction or animation projects and one exclusively for an animation film.
The remaining R$ 12 million will be distributed among six international co-productions, with R$ 2 million for each project. In this modality, fiction or animation productions with a foreign co-producer may compete.
