The Portuguese startup Bleap, founded by two former Revolut employees, launched a functionality that allows transfers via Pix between accounts in Brazil and Europe without charging IOF or any additional fees. The platform allows sending reais between the two markets at zero cost for the user.
The founders highlighted that Brazil has always been ahead in digital payment solutions. Bleap's international Pix functionality positions itself as an alternative to traditional remittances, which generally involve high costs and unfavorable exchange rates for users.
The company did not reveal specific details about the business model or how it intends to monetize the service. The startup is operating in a competitive market of fintechs that aim to facilitate international transfers, taking advantage of Pix's popularity as an instant payments system in Brazil.
