A wildfire broke out on Monday afternoon in the municipality of Proença-a-Nova, district of Castelo Branco. The fire forced the mobilization of a large firefighting force.

Around 7:00 AM the following morning, in the locality of Alvito da Beira, more than 600 operatives were on the ground fighting the flames. These elements were supported by more than 200 ground resources.

In total, the firefighting operation mobilized more than 800 operatives, including firefighters, civil protection forces and other emergency resources.
