Traffic is congested this Tuesday on the Via Rápida, on the island of Madeira, on the Cancela-Caniço and Caniço-Porto Novo subsections, in the Machico-Ribeira Brava direction. The congestion is due to the high traffic volume recorded on these sections.
According to the InfoVias application, on the Cancela-Caniço subsection, the traffic jam extends between kilometres 24 and 21. On the Caniço-Porto Novo subsection, traffic is restricted near kilometre 26.3.
The situation mainly affects those travelling in the Machico to Ribeira Brava direction, one of the island's main road connections. No information was provided regarding the expected duration of the congestion or any measures to minimise the impact on traffic.
