A witness heard by the Civil Police gave testimony at the Homicide Police Station of Niterói, São Gonçalo and Itaboraí (DHNSGI) about the approach that resulted in the shooting of pizzaiolo Danilo Jander Francisco Alves, 26 years old, on Saturday night, in the neighborhood of Icaraí, in Niterói, in the Metropolitan Region of Rio. According to the account, Danilo had already stopped his red motorcycle with his hands in the air when one of the police officers from the Segurança Presente program — which has been under the command of the Military Police Secretariat for six months — used pepper spray and, then, another police officer fired a shot.
The approach was carried out by two military police officers who were on two motorcycles and intercepted the young man, who worked as a pizzaiolo. The bullet hit Danilo's head, and he remains in serious condition. The case is being investigated by DHNSGI.
The victim's father stated that his son was intentionally shot, saying the police officer tried to kill him and that the act was not an accident. The Military Police Secretariat has not yet officially commented on the case.
