The new school year at Colégio de Amorim begins in an unusual scenario, marked by delays in marking national exams and prolonged appeal processes. The pedagogical leadership, led by Rui Maia, guarantees that it managed to meet the school calendar and ensure the normal development of the necessary procedures for the start of classes, following each case individually and analyzing the appeals whenever necessary.
Colégio de Amorim was a pioneer in the municipality by implementing rules on mobile phone use before national legislation came into effect. The ban in lower secondary happened in 2022 and in upper secondary in 2025, profoundly changing the dynamics of break times, which went from silent spaces to places of active socializing, with conversations, games, and laughter. In upper secondary, use is permitted, but with rules that prioritize face-to-face contact.
The leadership highlights that the start of the school year will be marked by a strong focus on holistic education and the emotional well-being of students. The welcome was designed to reinforce healthy relationships, integration between cycles, and a safe and motivating environment, ensuring that each student begins the year with confidence, balance, and readiness to learn.
