Turismo Centro de Portugal presented the project "A Caminho das Estrelas", which started in Covilhã and will travel through the eight sub-regions of Centro de Portugal. The objective is to transform the impact of the Michelin Gala, which distinguishes the best restaurants in the country, into an economic and tourism boost for the entire region.
The project was born from the need to extend the impact of the Michelin awards beyond the night of the gala, distributing the benefits across the various sub-regions. The initiative aims to show that the recognition of excellent gastronomy is not limited only to the awarded restaurants, but can serve as a catalyst for the development of the entire central region.
The first stage took place in Covilhã, the city that hosted the Michelin Gala. The program will pass through several localities in Centro de Portugal, promoting partnerships between restaurants, hotels, local producers and tourism agents in each area.
Turismo Centro de Portugal hopes that this initiative will contribute to the enhancement of regional products, the strengthening of the local economic fabric and the positioning of Centro de Portugal as a reference destination for excellent gastronomy.
