Jerónimo Martins, the Portuguese company owner of Pingo Doce and the Biedronka chain in Poland, was condemned to pay a fine of 121 million euros in the Polish market. The sanction was applied for violation of competition rules in the labor market.
The fine amount refers to practices related to working conditions and competition between employers in the sector. The Polish authorities considered that the company infringed the applicable competition rules in the labor market.
