Meet the Bahian accessories brand created by mother and daughter that Anitta used in her new album's music video

oglobo14 September 2026 at 16:44

The designer from Salvador Camila Oliveira, 33 years old, created in 2018 the accessories brand Somos Dua. The work started as a side income, while she worked on the styling team of the Bahian label Boah. Camila says she worked from 8am to 6pm in the atelier and then stayed producing her pieces until 4am.

It was at that time that her mother, Nádia Oliveira, 68, joined the business, helping to string beads on the pieces during the late nights while Camila finished the details. The brand began to gain success among friends and soon wholesale orders started coming in.

Today, Somos Dua has a store in a heritage-listed mansion in the Rio Vermelho neighborhood, in Salvador. The brand has already been worn by artists such as Ivete Sangalo, Nanda Costa, and Duda Santos, who used the pieces in the costume design of the novel "A nobreza do amor," in addition to Anitta, who wore the brand's accessories in the music video for "Equilibrium II."

Why this matters

The story shows how an entrepreneur from Salvador managed to transform a side income into a nationally recognized brand with family support, using the costumes of TV soap operas and music videos of major artists as a showcase. This inspires other local microentrepreneurs to seek visibility through partnerships with the entertainment industry.
