ULS Viseu Dão-Lafões is extending to three more municipalities the activity of the community mental health support team for adults, which already follows 408 users. The team, created as a pilot project in 2021, currently operates in Vouzela, Oliveira de Frades, São Pedro do Sul and Castro Daire, with planned expansion to Vila Nova de Paiva, Sátão and Aguiar da Beira. The goal is to ensure mental health care at home, avoiding unnecessary hospitalizations and promoting users' community integration. This care model allows professionals to intervene directly in the patients' family environment, providing closer and more personalized follow-up.
