The offices of Justices Alexandre de Moraes, Cristiano Zanin, and Gilmar Mendes, of the Supreme Federal Court, received on Monday the copy of the phone data from banker Daniel Vorcaro. The shipment was made by the Federal Police after orders issued by Zanin and Gilmar on Sunday. The content is being analyzed by the offices of all three justices.
Zanin and Gilmar were responsible for ordering the Federal Police to send the material. Zanin issued his order arguing that he wants to "form his conviction to be able" to participate in the trial regarding the case.
During the previous week, Alexandre de Moraes had defended in an official communication directed to the STF president, Edson Fachin, that access to all the content before the trial regarding the messages he received from banker Daniel Vorcaro would be necessary.
The episode represents another chapter in the clash between justices on the eve of the trial that could authorize an investigation into Alexandre de Moraes's conduct. On Sunday, Justice André Mendonça had reinforced to Fachin his position against sharing all of this material, arguing that it could harm ongoing investigations.
