The party Juntos Pelo Povo (JPP), through its deputy Filipe Sousa, presented Bill No. 737/XVII/1st in the Assembly of the Republic, which aims to strengthen protection for agricultural and food producers in Portugal.
The legislative proposal establishes a fundamental principle of economic justice: no one should be forced to sell what they produce at a price below the actual cost of production.
JPP also argues that the increased costs faced by farmers in the autonomous regions should be recognised, acknowledging the specific difficulties of these territories.
The main objective of the initiative is to ensure fairer conditions for producers, ensuring that they can cover the real costs of their agricultural activity.
