The Government is preparing a new fuel support package aimed at four sectors particularly affected by price increases. The sectors covered are freight transport, firefighters, the social sector, and taxis. The announcement was made this Monday by the Minister of Environment and Energy, Maria da Graça Carvalho.
The government official explained that these supports will resume measures that ended on June 30, following models already applied previously. Among the possibilities under study are vehicle subsidies or discounts per liter of fuel consumed, measures that had already been implemented in the past with the aim of mitigating the impact of price increases on the most vulnerable sectors.
