The Portuguese Government will implement new support measures to address rising fuel prices. The measures are aimed at specific sectors that will be covered by these subsidies.
The sectors covered include transport, firefighters and taxis. These professional groups will be supported by the Executive to mitigate the impact of constant fuel increases on their activity.
So far, the Government has made available around one billion euros through the ISP discount mechanism, the Special Tax on Petroleum Products. This value represents a significant investment by the Executive to protect these sectors.
Government estimates indicate that this value will reach 1.3 billion euros by the end of the year, which demonstrates the Executive's ongoing commitment to supporting professionals affected by the energy crisis.
