A collision between three light passenger vehicles occurred on Monday morning, 14 September, in Almeirim's Industrial Zone, at the intersection of Rua A with National Road 114, near the Intermarché supermarket. The alert was given at 10:31 and the accident caused one minor injury and two people assisted at the scene.
The victim transported to hospital was a 25-year-old pregnant woman, who had to be freed from the wreckage. After being assisted and stabilised by rescue teams, she was transported to Santarém District Hospital with injuries considered minor. Two men were also assisted at the scene but did not require transport to a hospital facility.
The rescue operations involved 12 operatives from Almeirim Volunteer Firefighters, supported by four vehicles. The Republican National Guard of Almeirim took charge of the incident. Traffic was interrupted in that area during the operations.
