Susana Travassos Receives Mili Vizcaíno in New Session of Tertúlia das Andorinhas in VRSA

Postal do Algarve14 September 2026 at 11:26

Spanish singer, composer, instrumentalist and researcher Mili Vizcaíno performs on September 26 at 9:30 PM, in Room CA2 of the Centro Cultural António Aleixo, in Vila Real de Santo António, as part of the Tertúlia das Andorinhas cycle, curated by Algarve singer Susana Travassos. The artist presents the concert "Cartographies of Time and Lime", a solo performance accompanied by guitar, which will be mostly original and inspired by the relationship between humans, territory and nature.

The songs will be performed in Spanish and Portuguese, crossing themes such as love, eco-social justice, dreams and different forms of connection to the natural world. The repertoire reflects different musical references that marked the artist's journey and dialogues with the research she has developed in the field of ecomusicology.

Mili Vizcaíno is originally from Spain and has a long academic and artistic relationship with Portugal. She studied classical piano at the Conservatory of Badajoz and Art History at the University of Salamanca, continuing her training in Portugal with a degree in Jazz Performance at the University of Évora and a master's at the Superior School of Music in Lisbon. She also studied Carnatic Music in India and holds a doctorate in Music and Musicology from the University of Évora, where she researched ecomusicology in the Iberian Peninsula. The artist is part of CESEM – Évora Hub and has received awards such as INJUVE 2005, Sonora 2012 and Extremadura 2023.

The Tertúlia das Andorinhas was conceived and is artistically directed by Susana Travassos, with the aim of creating in Vila Real de Santo António a regular space for musical proposals less present in conventional circuits. The concert takes place at 9:30 PM and tickets cost 15 euros.

Why this matters

Readers of the Sotavento algarvio have access to a cultural event that brings international musical proposals closer to the public, in a cycle that aims to diversify the cultural offering of the region and promote encounters between Portuguese and Spanish artists. The concert takes place in Room CA2 of the Centro Cultural António Aleixo, in Vila Real de Santo António.
